1

explicit approval before a draft affects your totals

From a receipt photo to a trustworthy ledger.

Three ways in, one rule at the end of all of them: nothing counts until you say so. A photo is read once and never stored, whichever route it takes.

  1. Step 1

    Capture it, or ask

Photograph the receipt in the iPhone app, type it in on the web, or hand it to an MCP client like Claude — which reads the image itself, so SiftSum never sees it at all.

  2. Step 2

    Get a structured draft

Merchant, line items, taxes, total, and categories come back as a draft. Anything unreadable is flagged for you to fill in rather than guessed.

  3. Step 3

    Approve what counts

Review the reconciliation, then confirm. Only then do your balance, trends, and forecast update.

More useful than a folder of receipts.

SiftSum turns everyday records into a clear view of what happened, what repeats, and what comes next.

Keep every line item useful.

See what you bought, not just where you shopped. Categories, quantities, taxes, discounts, and refunds remain attached to the receipt.

  • Search by merchant, product, or category
  • Catch duplicate and unreconciled drafts
  • Rename and merge merchants without editing receipts one by one

Your receipt photo is read once, then gone.

Scan in the app and the photo exists as bytes for the length of one request: it is passed to the reading model and never written to a disk, a queue, or a log. Use your own AI client instead and SiftSum never receives the image at all. Either way, what is kept is the draft you chose to save.

  • Nothing is storedA scanned photo is never written to disk, and the only trace it leaves is the draft you save.
  • Explicit approvalA draft stays outside your analytics until you confirm it.
  • Revocable accessConnect an AI client through OAuth or a manual token you can revoke.
